Alta-Aware-870 Vulnerability in the Go net/http package due to insufficient sanitization of Host header

Overview

Summary

The HTTP/1 client did not fully validate the contents of the Host header. A maliciously crafted Host header could inject additional headers or entire requests.

  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 6.0.3.
• Ava Cameras:
  • All Stable upgrade Channel versions before 6.0.7.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 6.0.3.
• Ava Cloud: before 18th July 2023.

Unaffected Products

• Ava Aware:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 6.0.7.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 6.0.3.
• Ava Cameras:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 6.0.7.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 6.0.3.
• Ava Cloud: from 18th July 2023.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Ava Aware Beta upgrade channel version 6.0.3 and Stable upgrade channel version 6.0.7.

It is strongly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Ava Aware User Interface.

A fix was deployed to the Ava Cloud on DDth Month YYYY. Ava Cloud customers do not need to take any additional action.

This issue has been fixed in Ava Camera Beta upgrade channel version V.B.C and Stable upgrade channel version V.S.C.

It is strongly recommended that all Ava Camera installations running an affected version upgrade to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Ava Aware User Interface for Ava managed cameras and the Ava Camera User Interface for unmanaged Ava cameras.
