Alta Aware — 1012: Golang security vulnerabilities in net/http and cmd/go

It was discovered that the net/http package in Go did not limit the amount of chunked data that is actually read, which could lead to a denial of service condition.

A vulnerability in cmd/go allowed for go get to unexpectedly fallback to the insecure git:// protocol, potentially leading to a man-in-the-middle attack.

  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 6.5.0.
• Ava Cameras:
  • All Stable upgrade Channel versions before 6.4.5.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 6.5.0.

  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 6.4.5.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 6.5.0.

• Ava Cameras:

  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 6.4.5.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 6.5.0.

• Ava Cloud: from 7th December 2023

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Ava Aware Beta upgrade channel version 6.5.0 and Stable upgrade channel version 6.4.5.

It is highly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Ava Aware User Interface.

A fix was deployed to the Ava Cloud on 7th December 2023. Ava Cloud customers do not need to take any additional action.

This issue has been fixed in Ava Camera Beta upgrade channel version 6.5.0 and Stable upgrade channel version 6.4.5.

It is highly recommended that all Ava Camera installations running an affected version upgrade to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Ava Aware User Interface for Ava managed cameras and the Ava Camera User Interface for unmanaged Ava cameras.
