How to: Manage Aware user access

From the Users tool, an Administrator can change the User group to which a user is assigned, unlock accounts, and manage user passwords.

Prerequisites

To manage Users, you must have Administrator privileges.

Task — Open the Users tool

  1. Log in to Alta Aware as an Administrator.
  2. Click Users tool Users, or click Add new tool Add new tool, then select Users tool Users.

Task — Change the User group for a user

  1. Select the user to change. To select multiple users, hover over each user and click the checkbox to the left of their user name.
  2. Click Edit user Edit user.
  3. From the Change user group drop-down list, select the user group to which the user is to be moved.
  4. Click Done.

Task — Unlock a user account from Aware

  1. Select the user to have their account unlocked. To select multiple users, hover over each user and click the checkbox to the left of their user name.
  2. Click Edit user Edit user and select Unlock user.
  3. (Optional) You can amend the lock period by clicking Edit Edit:
    1. Make the required changes to the selected locking time.
    2. Click Lock to confirm the updated lock information.
  4. Click Done.

Task — Send an email with a password reset link

For the Send an email with a password reset link to work, your Aware deployment must either be configured for remote access or must have its External URL set. Without one of these options, Aware cannot send the password reset email.

  1. Select the user to be sent a password reset email. To select multiple users, hover over each user and click the checkbox to the left of their user name.
  2. Click Edit user Edit user and select Send email with password reset link.
  3. Click Done.

Task — Delete a user from Aware

  1. Select the user to delete. To select multiple users, hover over each user and click the checkbox to the left of their user name.
  2. Click Edit user Edit users.
  3. Click Delete user.
  4. Chose Delete to complete this action.
