Introducing: Avigilon Ava cameras
Last modified: Wednesday November 16, 2022.
The Avigilon Ava cameras include multi-sensor, bullet, panoramic and fixed dome models, and versions for connection to both hybrid and cloud installations of the Alta Aware video management system.
The cameras (with the exception of the Avigilon Ava Quad and the Avigilon Ava Flex cameras) are available with black or white housings.

With on-board AI-powered analytics, bandwidth optimization, advanced video compression, and using AmbarellaTM components, you have the quality of video you need, with reduced bandwidth across your network.
The Avigilon Ava cameras are designed in Norway and the UK, and manufactured in Taiwan.
Built-in infrared LED illumination enables night, or low-light vision; Avigilon Ava cameras are optimized for daytime, and for low-light video capture.
Designed with cybersecurity in mind, Avigilon Ava cameras include Secure Boot to prevent tampering with the device code. All firmware updates are signed and encrypted, ensuring that the devices cannot be loaded with malicious firmware to compromise your security.
With ease of installation and mounting in mind, the Avigilon Ava Bullet, Avigilon Ava Dome and Avigilon Ava 360 cameras feature a removable mounting plate that is fitted before the camera is attached to the mounting plate.
Avigilon Ava cameras provide the analytics and video to the Aware Cloud video management system, where all alerts and events are managed and coordinated.
Avigilon Ava camera storage options
Each model of Avigilon Ava camera includes variants that either include onboard storage, or that are designed to hand off the storage tasks.
Avigilon Ava Cloud cameras have onboard storage designed specifically for video surveillance use. Avigilon Ava Cloud cameras include options for 30, 60 or 120 days of data retention. Avigilon Ava Cloud cameras require only a PoE connection to your internet-connected network to be able to communicate with your Aware Cloud deployment.
Avigilon Ava cameras without onboard storage work alongside the Alta Cloud Connectors, with the video and metadata storage and retrieval tasks being handled by the Cloud Connector. This provides you with more options for storage retention, and includes greater resiliency for your data.
Audio analytics
Featuring microphone arrays built into each camera, the Avigilon Ava cameras range provides the in-camera audio analysis needed to identify and locate the audio activity, before sending the resultant audio metadata to Aware for further analysis and to use to generate alerts and alarms.
Using these inputs, your Alta video security systems can identify events from both the video feeds and the audio metadata sent from the cameras.
Avigilon Ava Quad and Avigilon Ava Quad Cloud
The Avigilon Ava Quad and Avigilon Ava Quad Cloud cameras are adjustable at installation to provide the best field of view for each of the sensors. For audio detections, these cameras feature a four-way microphone array to provide feedback on the location of the source of the audio. The Avigilon Ava Quad camera is available in a two-tone black and white design.

Typical use for Avigilon Ava Quad and Avigilon Ava Quad Cloud cameras
For situations where you previously had to mount multiple cameras in close proximity in order to set your required fields of view, you can now install a single Avigilon Ava Quad camera, and configure the horizontal and vertical fields of view and the levels of zoom for each of the four sensors, to best match the coverage you require for the area.
Avigilon Ava Bullet and Avigilon Ava Bullet Cloud
The Avigilon Ava Bullet and Avigilon Ava Bullet Cloud cameras are adjustable at installation to provide the best field of view for each location. For audio detections, these cameras feature a four-way microphone array to provide feedback on the location of the source of the audio.

The Avigilon Ava Bullet cameras are available with two lens options; Wide angle (with a focal length of between 4.3 — 10.8 mm, giving up to a 100° field of view) and Tele (with a focal length of between 11 — 28 mm, giving up to a 39° field of view). For both lens options, you can rotate the lens in the housing to give either a 16:9 landscape view, or a 9:16 corridor view.
Typical use for Avigilon Ava Bullet and Avigilon Ava Bullet Cloud cameras
Bullet cameras are used where you need to monitor large areas. This could be a wide area such as a parking lot, where the Avigilon Ava Bullet Wide is useful. The Avigilon Ava Bullet Tele camera is ideal for monitoring long distances, for example, along a perimeter fence, or to monitor a Solar Power installation.
Avigilon Ava Dome and Avigilon Ava Dome Cloud
The Avigilon Ava Dome and Avigilon Ava Dome Cloud cameras are adjustable at installation to provide the best field of view for each location. For audio detections, these cameras feature a four-way microphone array to provide feedback on the location of the source of the audio.

Ease-of-use is of paramount importance in the design of the Dome cameras, these cameras feature both Ethernet and USB connections for setup, enabling the field of view and zoom levels to be adjusted and verified from a tablet or laptop computer.
During installation, power can be sourced from either the USB or Ethernet connection for additional flexibility during configuration.
Once the camera has been set up, the Ethernet connection is used to link your Avigilon Ava cameras to your Aware surveillance network (or internet-connected network for Avigilon Ava Cloud cameras).
Typical use for Avigilon Ava Dome and Avigilon Ava Dome Cloud cameras
Fixed dome cameras are used where you need discrete devices that are visually unobtrusive. With Dome and Dome Cloud, you configure both the horizontal and vertical fields of view and the level of zoom, to best match the location for each camera.
Avigilon Ava 360 and Avigilon Ava 360 Cloud
The Avigilon Ava 360 and Avigilon Ava 360 Cloud (panoramic) cameras are wide angle, fixed focus models, with a field of view of 360°. For audio detections, these cameras feature a four-way microphone array to provide feedback on the location of the source of the audio.
