How to: Add Disruptive Technologies sensors to Alta Aware

By integrating your Disruptive Technologies sensors with Alta Aware, you have all the tools and features to monitor the parameters from all the sensors.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you have purchased a suitable Avigilon Alta sensor integration license, and that Avigilon Alta have enabled sensor integrations on your deployment.

    Open the Devices tool in Aware and check for the presence of the Sensors tab.

  • Ensure that your sensors have been installed as recommended by Disruptive Technologies.
  • Disruptive Technologies group their sensors in projects that can be addressed in different ways.
    • Avigilon Alta recommend that you create a single Disruptive Technologies service account, and then add/invite this service account to each of your Disruptive Technologies projects as needed.
    • Once added, you then add the Disruptive Technologies service account to Alta Aware.

    Alta Aware does not automatically detect changes to your Disruptive Technologies service account. If you add new projects, click the synchronize button Synchronise button in Devices > Sensors > Sensor Accounts to see them in Aware.

Task — Create a Disruptive Technologies Service account

  1. Access your Disruptive Technologies Studio account.
  2. From API Integrations | Service Accounts, create a new Service Account.

    The service account needs to have as a minimum the Project developer role for each project, so that the service account has sufficient permissions to create the Data Connectors required to integrate with Alta Aware.

  3. Make a note of the following information, or keep this browser window open, as this information is needed when creating your Disruptive Technologies sensor account in Alta Aware:

    • Service Account email
    • Key ID
    • Secret

    • After closing the dialog box, you cannot retrieve the Secret again. Ensure you have either copied this information, or keep the tab open until you have created your Disruptive Technologies sensor account in Alta Aware.

Task — Add your Disruptive Technologies service account to Alta Aware

  1. Choose Tools Open a tool > Devices Devices.
  2. Select Sensors.
  3. Choose Sensor account.
  4. Click Add devices .
  5. Select Disruptive Technologies as the sensor provider.
  6. Add a Note if required.
  7. Enter the Service account email, Key ID, and the Secret strings you noted when creating your Disruptive Technologies service account.
  8. Choose Connect.

Task — Add a Disruptive Technologies sensor to Aware

  1. Choose Tools Open a tool > Devices Devices.
  2. Select Sensors.
  3. Click Add devices Add sensors.
  4. Select Disruptive Technologies.
  5. Select the sensor to add.
    1. If you don't see the sensor, try synchronizing Synchronise button your Disruptive Technologies service account in Devices > Sensors > Sensor Accounts.
  6. Choose Next.
  7. Select the sensor channel to prioritize.
    1. Each channel is the measurement of a single physical property.
    2. The channels shown vary depending upon the type of sensor you have selected.
    3. Select the Device group, Labels, and Associated Cameras (optional) for the sensor.
  8. Choose Add.
